Complementary Cancer Therapies
In support of cancer patients who are undergoing, or recovering from chemo-therapy, surgery, or other treatments in the NHS, the Health Hub offer complimentary therapies that can help speed up recovery.
The side effects of chemo-therapy are well known. This and surgery will often leave behind weakness, tenderness, and discomfort for many months. The body’s resources are severely taxed – energy is depleted and the immune system badly in need of support.
The Health Hub, founded in 2020, opened in Quarriers Village in 2022 bringing unique and modern therapies to one location. Our therapies, used extensively in the USA, provide much needed support for cancer sufferers and those with chronic health conditions.
PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy can support cancer treatment by reducing pain, inflammation, and fatigue, which are common side effects of conventional treatments like chemotherapy and radiation. It enhances tissue healing, improves circulation and oxygenation, and supports immune function, helping the body recover faster. Some research also suggests PEMF may directly inhibit cancer cell growth and promote apoptosis (cell death). While not a cure, PEMF serves as a complementary therapy, improving patients’ quality of life and potentially enhancing the effectiveness of other cancer treatments.
Infrared saunas can support cancer treatment by promoting detoxification, reducing pain, and alleviating fatigue. The heat from infrared saunas helps stimulate circulation and improve lymphatic drainage, aiding the body in removing toxins, which can be beneficial during chemotherapy. Infrared therapy may also reduce inflammation, boost the immune system, and enhance overall relaxation, helping to lower stress levels in patients. While it doesn’t treat cancer directly, it can improve quality of life and support recovery when used alongside conventional cancer treatments.
Red light therapy can support cancer treatment by promoting healing, reducing inflammation, and improving cellular function. At The Hub, we have a Theralight 360 full body red light bed. It stimulates mitochondrial activity, enhancing energy production in cells, which can help repair tissues damaged by chemotherapy or radiation. Red light therapy also boosts circulation, aiding in pain relief, reducing fatigue, and supporting the immune system. While not a direct treatment for cancer, it helps improve recovery and overall well-being when used alongside conventional therapies, potentially enhancing treatment outcomes and reducing side effects.
