Osteoarthritis relief from Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) and Theralight 360

Initially when I walked into the Health Hub there was a warm welcome from Leigh at the reception, and a very relaxed atmosphere with calming music. I was then introduced to Lilian who was taking me for Pulse Electro Magnetic Therapy treatment, she then asked me about my medical history so that she could understand the health issues that I was needing assistance with. I have osteoarthritis in both hips and both knees and my left ankle and suffer from chronic pain throughout my whole body on a daily basis which is more severe when I sleep at night; waking up with pain sometimes 5-6 times per night. This has occurred since surgery I previously had for diverticular disease in 2011 which resulted in me getting a leak in the body, a blood clot, pneumonia, and double hernia which meant me having 3 weeks in intensive care at this time. Since then my health has deteriorated and at the moment I have restricted mobility I walk with 2 walking sticks and very slowly.

Lilian was able to adapt the treatment that I had to support my mobility directing the pulse treatment to my hips, knees and ankle. She was very knowledgeable, kind and attentive to my needs which I found very supportive and reassuring throughout my experience at the Health Hub.

I was a little nervous about my Red Light( Theralight 360)  treatment as I have a mesh implant to support my hernia but Lilian reassured me that it would not affect this and after the reassurance I was able to settle down and relax during the treatment.

Directly after the treatments I felt increased mobility I could lift my legs and march which I wasn’t able to do before. I felt a new lease of energy and I was able to walk around the shops that day with ease and with very mild pain. Since then my sleep pattern seems to have changed as I usually wake up 4-5 times per night but I experienced sleeping right through the night until 6am without waking up which I have not experienced in years! This gave me more hope that my body is getting a better chance to heal throughout the night.

Usually I experience chronic severe nerve pain which I had just got used to living with but since my first PEMF treatment this pain had significantly reduced; particularly in my right knee. This has enabled me to have a better quality of living, improving my sleep and movement. I am only 65 and I use to be a hillwalker and rock climber so it has been frustrating for me to not have the mobility I used to, to do the things I love but the other day I had a day trip to Loch Lomond and was able to walk about with mild pain so I feel that if I continue with this treatment I will be able to travel more in the future. I have tried many things in the past, such as physio and aqua aerobics, aqua Zumba, and hydrotherapy and they all assist me with keeping my muscles active but none of them have ever taken the pain away. I am very excited and encouraged by this treatment it has given me hope! I feel more motivated to get out and about and make healthier food and lifestyle choices to allow my body to heal and repair.
