Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is narrowing of peripheral arteries, leading to ischemia and impaired healing.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) enhances oxygen delivery to oxygen-starved tissues, stimulates angiogenesis (new blood vessel growth), and helps reduce the risk of ulcers and tissue loss. Exercise with Oxygen Therapy (EWOT) improves systemic oxygenation and cardiovascular conditioning, making it easier for patients to walk longer distances without pain.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy and Theralight can enhance microcirculation, improve endothelial function, and reduce inflammation in vessel walls, supporting better blood flow and tissue repair. Infrared saunas may improve circulation by inducing vasodilation, reduce vascular stiffness, and promote relaxation.
Cryotherapy may support local vascular tone through vasoconstriction–vasodilation cycles, but it is less commonly used in PAD.
